ERGOM was initially developed at IOW, but is now being used and extended by a community of marine scientists across Europe.

The versions of ERGOM have branched early in the history of ERGOM and have diverged, so different extensions have been made at different institutes. The following efforts are taken for collaboration:

ERGOM users' meetings

ERGOM users' meetings are done annually in spring for scientific exchange. In-person-meetings will take place in combination with the BSSC. In years without BSSC, we have online meetings.

Sharing information on forcing datasets

Some ERGOM users share metainformation on the forcing datasets they use in the following table:
